Why windows mobile will continue to do fine against the Iphone 2.0/3G and the other competition
iPhone 2.0/3G supports:
Xcode,
Safari and
MobileMe (as the integration for the Mac Ecosystem)
It also got:
Mobile Itunes
App Store
Ipod App
Mobile iLife (to a extend)
WM6.1 supports:
SOFTWARE
Now:
C++
.NET
JAVA (full)
Soon (one month or so)
Flash Lite (officially)
Silverlight 1.0
Fall or Early 09:
JavaFX
Better Flash Lite
Better .NET
BROWSERS
Now:
PIE (wm6.1 version)
Opera Mobile 8.5
Netfront 3.5 standard
Later
Netfront 3.5 Special/concept (only for WM)
Opera Mobile 9.0
SkyFire
Firefox Mobile One
WINDOWS ECOSYSTEM INTEGRATION
Now 6.1:
Windows Live Suite 1.0
Mobille Office Suite 1.0 (Words, Excel, PPT, Mobile onenote , etc)
Exchange
Outlook
SideShow (WM-Vista)
Media Center Remote(XP-very Limited/Vista-Limited)
Later this year/early next year
all of the above plus:
Sharepoint
Windows Live Suite 2.0
New Mobile Media Center Remote
Live Mesh
= Windows Mobile will do fine against Iphone , Android, Open Symbian, RIM, etc, etc.
Then early next year you have to take in WM7 that will add :
The OS changes

IE Mobile One
Plus to everything mentioned already and whatever it gets added that we don`t know.
Any takers on Windows Mobile somehow not thriving along after my notes on it?
… Good.
Now on the case of Palm and RIM. those are the two who must be living in fear of the future. they have to compete against all. Iphone, WM and 5 mobile linux distros where the most notable ones are of course OpenSymbian and Android
